Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn (born August 19, 1965) is an American actress from the United States. She is best known for her role as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (TVN crime drama The Closer). Sedgwick received two Emmy Awards in 2010 and 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson. After the conclusion of the seventh season the show was cancelled on the 13th of August, 2012. Sedgwick is also well-known for her role in Brooklyn Nine-Nine as Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated to the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's films roles include Oliver Stone's Born in July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Individuals (1992) as well as Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) as well as What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2011) are as well. Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), who was a speech instructor and educational/family therapist , and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, a venture capitalist. Her mother, who was Jewish, was of English and Episcopalian heritage. Sedgwick is a self-described Jewish and has claimed that she attends at Passover seders.
