Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on March 10 1949. She is an American investor and speaker as well as consultant. The Corcoran Group, an NY-based real estate broker was started by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then exited the business. One of the show's first "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in all 12 seasons of ABC's Shark Tank until now. Corcoran has been involved in 53 deals as of February 2020. The biggest was a $350,000 investment to provide 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second of a family of 10 kids born to a working class Irish-Catholic couple living in Edgewater, New Jersey. [8] Her mother, Florence, was a homemaker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. moved between jobs throughout Corcoran's childhood. The family relied sometimes on free food delivery from a nearby supermarket. Corcoran claims that her father was a drunk who did her mother a disservice and sarcastic remarks. Corcoran had difficulty at school and discovered later she was dyslexic. Corcoran started in high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her time at a Catholic elementary school. After failing several courses in her first year, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School, where she received a grade of D.
